Terms of Service
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms cover the use of certifiedlocals.com and the services Certified Locals provides. Specific engagements are governed by the written proposal or agreement signed with that client, which takes precedence over this page where the two differ.
Using this site
The content on this site is provided for general information. It is not a guarantee of any particular result, and it does not constitute professional advice for your specific situation.
Our services
We provide local SEO, Google Business Profile management, website design, paid search management and related services. Scope, deliverables and fees are set out in the proposal for each engagement.
No ranking guarantees
Search engine rankings are determined by third parties whose algorithms we do not control and which change without notice. We do not guarantee specific rankings, traffic volumes, lead counts or revenue. We guarantee the work described in your proposal and the reporting that accompanies it. Any timeframes we quote are estimates based on experience, not commitments.
Your responsibilities
- Providing timely access to accounts, content and approvals
- Ensuring material you supply is accurate and that you have the right to use it
- Complying with applicable advertising and licensing rules for your trade
Account ownership
Accounts we create or work on for you — including your Google Business Profile, Google Ads account, Analytics, Search Console, website and hosting — are created in your name and remain yours. We operate as a manager on those accounts and your access can be withdrawn at any time.
Fees and payment
Fees, billing frequency and any minimum term are set out in your proposal. Advertising spend is paid by you directly to the advertising platform and is not marked up by us.
Cancellation
Unless your proposal states otherwise, engagements run for an initial minimum period and then continue month to month, cancellable with thirty days’ written notice. There is no exit fee and no charge to hand over assets you already own.
Intellectual property
Content, pages and creative produced for you under a paid engagement belong to you once invoiced work is paid. Our internal processes, templates and documentation remain ours.
Confidentiality
We do not publish client names, traffic data or results without written permission. Case studies on this site are anonymised for that reason.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees paid by you for the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business opportunity.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
