The problem

Two failures cost window companies more than anything else.

Most window and door companies have the same two problems, and neither is about effort. You can run a twenty-year-old business with eighty five-star reviews, a full crew and genuinely good workmanship, and still be invisible eight miles from your shop. That is an architecture problem, not a reputation problem.

The first failure is what we call the single page trap. One Services page mentions casement windows, double-hung, bay and bow, vinyl, fiberglass, entry doors, sliding patio doors and French doors — inside about four hundred words. To a search engine that page is about nothing in particular. A homeowner searching “fiberglass window replacement cost” gets served a regional conglomerate with a dedicated fiberglass page instead, even though your installers are better and closer.

The second is the service radius blind spot. Your shop sits in City A. The affluent township eight miles out, where the housing stock is older and the replacement budgets are larger, has nothing on your site establishing relevance. No location page, no localized proof, no geo signals in your profile. So the jobs with the highest ticket values are precisely the ones you never appear for, and you never see the loss because you cannot miss an enquiry that was never made.

The service radius blind spot

The townships you are invisible in.

Your shop sits in one city. The affluent township eight miles out has older housing stock and bigger replacement budgets — and nothing on your site telling Google you work there.

What we target

The searches that actually produce estimates.

High-ticket buyers search by product and by place. Generic “windows” terms are low-intent and dominated by manufacturers. These are the shapes we build silos around.

The blueprint

What we build instead.

Three layers of architecture, built in this order because each one depends on the one before it.

01

Product-level silos

Dedicated pages for each window type — double-hung, casement, bay, bow, vinyl, fiberglass — and each door type covering entry, sliding patio and French. Each page targets how homeowners genuinely type, carries its own schema, and links internally to the geo pages that matter for it.

02

Geo silos

Compliant, content-rich landing pages for every target township and county in your radius. Differentiated enough to earn their rankings rather than trip duplicate-content filters: local housing stock, local permit notes, real projects completed there, genuine references to the area.

03

Map pack optimization

Primary category set to Window Installation Service with secondary categories for Door Supplier and Siding Contractor where they apply, plus service and attribute completeness, weekly geo-tagged project photography, and review response inside 24 hours.

The architecture

One page for everything, or one page per query.

The gap

Before and after, in plain terms.

Conversion technicals

Homeowners photograph a drafty window and search on the spot.

A homeowner notices a draft, photographs the window on their phone, and searches right there. That search happens one-handed, often in poor light, frequently on cellular rather than wifi. If your page takes four seconds to render they are back in the results before your hero image has loaded, and the click cost you nothing but the estimate is gone.

So we build for sub-1.2 second Largest Contentful Paint on real devices rather than lab scores, tap targets sized for a thumb, and a click-to-call that is visible without scrolling on a phone. Project galleries load progressively so the page is usable before the images finish.

The same work compounds elsewhere. Core Web Vitals feed organic ranking directly. And if you run Google Ads, landing page experience is a component of Quality Score — which means the technical work lowers your cost per click on the paid side at the same time as it lifts the organic side. Most contractors are paying for that twice and getting it from neither.

Questions

The things people ask before they hire.

Map pack movement typically shows between 60 and 90 days. Organic rankings on product and geo pages move between 90 and 180 depending on existing technical debt and market competition. Estimate volume usually doubles between months four and seven when the architecture is built properly.

Because nothing on your site establishes relevance to those townships. Google will not infer that you serve a suburb eight miles away just because it is nearby — proximity helps, but relevance has to be built. That means a differentiated geo page per township with real local signals, not a city name swapped into a template.

Only if they are thin templates with the product name swapped. Each silo page needs genuinely different content — specific product characteristics, real installation considerations, actual project examples, distinct schema. Done properly they strengthen each other; done lazily they trip filters. The difference is effort, not strategy.

They solve different problems. Bought leads are sold to several contractors at once, so you compete on response speed and price from the first second. Organic search intent is exclusive to you and compounds — the page you build this quarter keeps producing next year. Most of our clients run both initially and shift budget toward organic as it matures.

One per township you genuinely service and would happily send a crew to. Building pages for areas you will not travel to produces enquiries you have to decline, which wastes everyone’s time and does nothing for your profile. Most single-location window companies land between four and twelve.

For first contact, usually yes. A large share of homeowners call or request directions straight from the profile without visiting the site at all. But the website is where a considered $15,000 purchase gets validated, so both matter — the profile wins the click, the site wins the estimate.

We write it. You review it. For product pages we will need a short call with whoever knows the installation detail, because the specifics are what separate a page that ranks from a page that reads like it was written by someone who has never seen a window installed.

Starts at $750 per month for a single location covering up to ten keywords and three geo pages. Multi-location or wider keyword coverage runs $1,500. There is no setup fee and no charge for the initial audit.

Call tracking mapped to specific pages and campaigns, Search Console and Analytics configured from day one, and a one-page monthly report showing rankings by keyword and city alongside calls and booked estimates. You can audit all of it yourself without going through us.

Yes, and it is one of the most common problems we find. When window pages and door pages compete for the same URL patterns both get depressed. The fix is URL restructuring, one-to-one 301 mapping and re-pointing internal link equity to a single canonical page per silo.

Yes, and the two work better together. The technical cleanup that lifts organic also improves landing page experience, which is a Quality Score component — so the same work lowers your cost per click. Ads management is $700 per month plus spend, paid to Google directly and never marked up.

We work with one window and door company per metro. If yours is committed you will hear that in the first reply, not after an invoice. We will tell you honestly rather than taking the work and splitting our attention.
